Petition to Play Porcupine, as well as Ocean Rain

Postby crystal89 » Tue Mar 22, 2011 6:37 am

Not wanting to sound all KOK,
but I reckon that for most of us, the only
reason we'd go, would be if they did Porcupine
and Ocean Rain, back to back, we've all heard/been
to the original, "once in a lifetime" Ocean Rain Shows,
it's time to move on, a bit.

So here's my solution, let's contact the band, nicely,
not like those human rights activists, and politely suggest
to them, that playing Porcupine would be the "greatest thing"
they've ever done.

furthermore, it'd get rid of that tedious Greatest Hits Set, apart
from the 4 from Ocean Rain, that get played endlessly, and has
there been a show since about 1983, where Back of Love and
The Cutter hasn't been played?

It was a beautiful soliloquy worthy of The Bard himself until you responded.
Purveyor of the 'semi-predictable one-liner (which) embodies the essence of the type of comedic crap we grew to love here. VB is a crazy fool'

I am lost for words

The Ocean Rain tour does not deserve any kind of comment.

After the perfection of the Crocs / HUH - well I don't need to say it do I .

Well I won't be going, Gone off the whole lot to be honest

Can't be arsed to psot here any more really

I have even given most of my collection away to various kindrid sprits.

Can't take it with you and if Mac is shit next month then its the onfire for the rest of it.

Reality Check - Getting made reduntant and a loverly pay out to boot.

Made my bucket list I'm out of here

Yeah, yeah, yeah, right. See you in Liverpool next December KOK!

I'm betting Porcupine and Evergreen will be next year or the one thereafter.

Can't be rushed. They've got to make it last as long as possible.

Somebody's convinced them that they could keep touring the OR w/ orchestra bit in big halls and make bank. Plus it's a set Mac can now do in his sleep.

Here's the promo for the 2008 UK Ocean Rain tour, I mean the 2009 US tour, I mean the 2010 South American tour, erm, I mean the 2011 UK tour. Gawd, that's four years of Ocean Rain - wonder if that is a record in the full entirety Guinness Book of Records, if any such thing exists. I'll have to dig up Norris McWhirter to check.

I don't know what my punishment will be after saying this (although over here in the good ole U.S of A. we have that 'free speech' thing that I will use as a shield while I stand tall fearing retribution) but I am not a big "Ocean Rain" fan, and although Mac's opinion is that "The Killing Moon" is the "best song ever", I cannot share that opinion. IMHO it's "With a Hip" or "Gods Will Be Gods". SOOOO.....I'm all for "Porcupine" making the rounds, and I think "Evergreen" should be its companion. "Ocean Rain" is like a red headed step child to me. SHIELD UP!
The boobs are real; the smile is fake.

I'd love to see them do Porcupine ... and I wouldn't mind if they paired it with either Evergreen or the Gray Album ...
