Reverberation retro album review

Postby DivaDiana77 » Sat Feb 12, 2011 4:55 am

Greetings from LA (a place which some hate, including me) and from me (a person who some of you hate). I haven't been haunting here lately. I've been busy writing.

Reverberation--
www.examiner.com/album-reviews-in-natio ... d-hair-guy I put a link back to this site and the Noel Burke interview.

It's been an interesting year. I started writing as LA Rock Examiner and am now also the Album Reviews Examiner. I got to meet Kate Nash, Muse, Alan Wilder, Martin Gore, Nitzer Ebb, and lots of cool people.

It seemed fitting to start with the Bunnymen since that's where my love of music first started. Here's my other shit so you can all tear it apart and say how much you hate me and how journalism has gone to the dogs blah blah even though some of you liked my Coachella review last year.

Here's my Nitzer Ebb album review: Das ist gut produkt

no I enjoyed reading that. But does this mean we're going to have the 'should have called it something else' discussion. again i dont think it would have made any difference if they'd have called it something else, thats all to do with whose bnad it was/is, the main problem is the voice and crappy lyrics, though they are quite good in places. plus there's no obvious single, though I would have chosen that one on side two with the cheeky riffette on it - but see, I cant even remember what its called. oh dear.

Shilling for page hits. Classy

From Wikipedia:

Pay scale

Examiners are paid based on a black box system considering page views and other metrics, or the "Gawker-model", made famous by the blog Gawker.com. During 2009 many of the writers were receiving $0.01 per page view. Examiner.com later offered a variety of pay scale options to their writers. Examiner.com now bases compensation on variables such as subscriptions, page view traffic and session length

Diva Diana the music journalist . . .
Just what the world of music needs - someone who is biased, does not read or understand what is plainly written in front of them and a frustrated singer to boot.

Even more interesting that she has exposed her true identity and image so now anyone can see her enthralling well informed posts here on VT.

Maybe an interview with Mr McCulloch could now happen.
Especially if he has read all the posts from DD prior to interview.
Ones where she rips his vocals and writing to shreds - opinions based on her superior musical talent and how he would benefit from her vocal teachings.

Ian would also particularly like the ones where all the great songs are actually because of Les & Pete.

Yes I would pay good money to read any publication that would commission an interview with DD and Mac - especially if he's had a few.

That wasn't very New Ro of you.

"The band's split is the exact cause of Pete DeFrietas death since he was heading to meet the new singer, Noel Burke when he was tragically killed"

douche move, there.

Jack you got me here - what is New Ro?

Is it some modern day slang I am not up with or an in joke that I am liable to sound like DD if I make some ridiculous comeback to it?

Prefer to be humble here and take it like a man.

I agree, so what.

Everyones welcome to their opinions and this site is famous for them. She's at least making some money doing it, perhaps enough to buy a drink at the show.

I do hope DD gets to meet and interview the band when they perform at Club Nokia.

Perhaps in that May 21 concert review she can put in a plug to my blog with a link to the bootlegged show because I too am shilling for page hits, not for money but ego. Yeah right!

I met someone the other day who saw one and only one Bunnymen show in the 90's, with Noel Burke holding the mic. He really enjoyed the concert, but then again, he probably failed to realize what he missed. At least he witnessed a rare incarnation of the band. That alone was probably worth it.

So do I.

Please make it happen!
Make sure McCulloch is fully armed with every applicable post she has written here about his voice and songwriting and let the party begin.

In fact he may not even need it - he would have her number in seconds.
It is a rare person who can match his wit and DD just may think she can.
Even when he is totally legless and seemingly incapable of stringing an intelligent sentence together - whammo!

Just had a read. Sorry, but it's not much of an album review, more a review of the Bunnymen at that time, hardly any tracks are mentioned at all. The NME surely awaits.

Arrgh... I hate sites with pop-ups even when your pop-up blocker is activated. Click here if you want to find out what you have won.

The NME site doesn't give me a pop-up.

It's more likely to give me a pop-up than anything on the examiner. Maybe there's someone or something amongst their facebook friends...
