Glasgow tomorrow

Postby mark » Tue Dec 07, 2010 9:46 am

I hope the guys make it up and the show goes ahead. The roads through the central belt of Scotland are terrible at present. I am supposed to be going, but there's no way I am taking the car. Hopefully the buses and trains will be back to normal.

Not seen any news to suggest it will be cancelled but BOF, twitter is, as usual pretty shit when it comes to relaying any news.

Cheers Jimbo,

We are travelling from Dunfermline, probably in the morning and staying over. Fingers crossed.

To be honest am hoping that they cancel and reschedule the concert as if it goes ahead it's 90% certain I'll miss it.... The roads are to dangerous to drive and public transport is virtually non-existent, and The Police are telling nobody to go onto the roads unless it's essential....

I see The Police asked for tonight's Faithless Concert to be cancelled and all the other events in Glasgow are not opening tonight to save people travelling into town.... If the concert does go ahead I fear that they will be lucky to be 400-500 people there as most folk won't take the risk in travelling and getting stranded in town, Frankie Boyle played Glasgow last night and there was 4,500 empty seats in a 9,000 sell out concert........

Sorry to sound selfish but lads please reschedule so that everyone can see the show..... Finally if the roads stay as bad over the next few days we may not even get to Liverpool at the weekend, truly feeling gutted........

I thought you were about The Police for a moment. As in Sting, Message in a bottle...

One of these gigs (Glasgow or London) is not going to happen. I feel it in my waters. If it's London, it'll be because of the stupid decision to go ahead with Glasgow.

Temperatures are supposed to rise in Glasgow the next few days with warmer weather Thursday morning - so it wouldn't be as bad travelling. However, Wednesday night is going to be bitterly cold and foggy, which probably will prevent people getting to venue period as it will be too dangerous on the roads. I agree I think they'd be better cancelling Glasgow and leaving Manchester tomorrow and going direct to London. Get a day's rest in as well.

Bang on, I agree 100%, they are talking about -10 temps tomorrow night, makes sense to reschedule Glasgow and head straight to London......

I was reading the Scotsman just now about the weather up there. All I can say is that they are nuts and I guess it might be an idea to monitor closely whether they will end up cancelling Brixton tomorrow as a result of playing Glasgow. Airports up there now seem to be open, but all the crew and gear.

I suppose it gives a new meaning to the phrase "no snow, no show".

Twenty per cent of the flights out of Charles de Gaulle have been cancelled today, but not the Glasgow one.

Good hope you make it alright.......

I've decided to bite the bullet and have booked a nearby Hotel so that I can get to the concert tonight.... There was no way I could miss it and should be able to get into town today and hopefully home in the morning......

If your going tonight please take care and drive safely........
