Seems a very tight performance. Ten minutes long as well.

With A Hip, he said something about paedophilia being the biggest fucking disease in the world. Didn't catch the rest of it.

It was an excellent vid. His voice sounded good singing - a wreck speaking - but good news regardless.

You fools! He's just trying to lull us into a false sense of security!
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Don't be silly BF. It is perfectly obvious from that and other poor quality mobile phone recorded YouTube videos that Mac is back to his best. His vocals are restored to their former glory, hence why he decided to drop anything from The Fountain from the setlist, as he can no longer sing in a low-key raspy voice. If you don't accept this as the truth, then you know what you can do.

Seems the old man still has it in him. Bodes well for the HUH tour. They put in a good performance on Jools Holland's show a few months back as well. I remember how after WAYGTDWYL and the consequent sore throat tour Mac seemed like an empty shell at the heart of a once great band, but then came back with a vengeance during the Flowers tour at the Brighton Concorde II. If they can keep that up they could be the opening act in my movie.

I think the general consensus is that the Flowers tour was the best of the lot in the last 13 years.

What song would you like the Bunnymen to open your movie with Dr Evil?

Flaming Red, In Bluer Skies and No Dark Things would just about stand up to Rozi Plain's new songs with her full band set. Anything less and they needn't bother.

I can't speak for the other shows, but the Southampton gig during the Siberia Bunnymen tour was a mess of muddy bass and drums, over-loud guitar from Will and dodgy vocals from Mac. A wasted opportunity bearing in mind that Siberia had some great songs. I didn't bother going after that-I think that was the one where a subdued Tomo, with a bad case of toothache, was on my right and some mutant transvestite freakzoid was on my left, which was more entertaining then the band. In contrast, the Brighton Flowers tour gigs brought tears to my eyes. Though even there, I've always been too reserved to actually scream. Rozi and her full band in Blackburn changed that-I never thought anyone would exceed the Bunnymen at Brighton, but she did- though Elbow came pretty close to equalling it once. In contrast, despite the mediocre fountain album, the Bunnymen really have got it together live, particularly (at long last) the rhythm section.

the new york show (may 1) was brilliant. The faster songs especially (the cutter, back of love, do it clean etc) they were really tight and had the crowd going. One of the best performances by the bunnymen that I have ever seen... possibly the best US performance that I have seen. Mac sounded great and was in a great mood. Loved it, and had a great time. Didn't go to the May2 show, so not sure if that show was any better.

Also, Will's DJ set was a great time at the Brooklyn Bowl afterwards... the weird thing is they did NO PROMOTION for the afterparty, which was really odd. So only a small group of people (that I recognized as bunnymen fans) were there for the DJ set, the rest of the people were just there... it was odd. Next time they should promote that better... I bet a lot of the people at the concert would have gone to the afterparty had they known about it.

anyway, show was awesome... so glad i was able to make the trip.

here is my video (just uploaded) of do it clean... try to ignore the tall guys in front of me who were dancing about.

hey, two great nights in a row! There was no promotion of the after party in DC as well. Stoltz did mention it at the end, but there were only 3 or 4 flyers about it in the place and none posted. We enjoyed it nevertheless.

Man the band sounds as great as ever, there is a big amount of Bunnymen bashing on this sight and sometimes it is justified. But when they sound as good as the last three live shows we should all give them the praise they deserve. So even if I was not at these concerts I just want to say great job Ian, Will and the rest of the Bunnymen keep it up and maybe some of the people on this forum will say your great again.
