Bunnymen Star Mcculloch Exhausted For New York Concert

ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN star IAN MCCULLOCH feared the band's recent Radio City Music Hall comeback gig in New York would be a disaster - because he hadn't slept for three days before the show.

The exhausted singer admits he was nervous as he made his way to the venue for a performance of classic album Ocean Rain in its entirety - but the music mecca gave him a last minute burst of energy that carried him through the concert.

He explains, "I was in the cab thinking, 'You f**king stupid b**tard'. But then I stepped through the door of Radio City, and it was like going through some weird invisible field of well-being and healing... I loved it."

There was an article for that? Must be slow over at Contact Music.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Worthless bit of information really but I'm glad it didn't result in a poor performance.

Very important and humanizing info for a Bunnyman fan, I think.

For all his posturing, fame would seem to be a double edged sword. The reason so much of the music may be lacking lately is Ian's inability to give up control (perhaps because of losing so much to the record industry) and knowing how much of a role others played in their ground breaking albums.

Ian sounds like a man with some serious demons.

So did he go on a three-day, multi-continent (Liverpool to London to NYC) bender or did he have insomnia?

I think we're supposed to read this as he was very nervous about the "Radio City Music Hall comeback gig" (?????) so he couldn't sleep, but it could be read as him going off the deep end for three days.

I hope it was the latter!

Maybe the next news flash will reveal the condition of his bowels and if he's suffered from any irregularity lately. Activia....

NYC can be amazing amounts of fun...lived there for two years but never quite managed to stay up for 3 days straight. Perhaps I hung out in the wrong crowd...

Contact Music is reporting legendary Bunnymen fan black francis didn't get enough sleep last night.
