The Fountain - Lyrics

Postby voz » Wed Oct 14, 2009 5:47 pm

As a non-english speaking person, I always look forward to read the lyrics Mac wrote.
I now only have the iTunes-downloads for the moment and I don't know if the albumsleeve has the lyrics printed on it.
So, it would be great to me (and i think lots of others) if you english guys/ladies would place the lyrics in this topic.

On the internet I already found TINIT, who will complete the rest?

1 Think I Need It Too

Must've forgotten something
How to forget how to be true
Covered myself in nothing
Don't touch me and i won't touch you
Tryin' to remember something
Why am I here and who are you?
You must admit something
Animals came in two by two

Whatever you want
Whatever you need
Whatever you want
Whatever you need
I think I need it too
I think I need it too
I think I need it too

Just as I thought I'm thinking
How can I change when I don't want to
Kept getting caught
Kept drinking
How can I blame what I got to
Putting the wheels in motion
Autopilot I can't drive
Covered in chalomine lotion
Scratching my ?? bee stung

Whatever you want
Whatever you need
Whatever you want
Whatever you need
I think I need it too
I think I need it too
I think I need it too

Whatever you want
Whatever you need
Whatever you want
Whatever you need
Whatever you want
Whatever you need
Whatever you want
Whatever you need
I think I need it too
I think I need it too
I think I need it too

True. But I don't mind listening to my selection. I'm bored and it's late, so here is another one

Love it, hate it
Want it, had it
Need it, got it
Down da-down da-down

Take it, took it
Shaped (shaked?) it, shooked it
Flaked it, flucked it
Down da-down da-down da-down da-down da-down da-down

Do You Know Who I Am?
Do You Know What I Got?
Did You Know Who I Am?
Cos I know what you got

Read it, wrote it
Heard it, spoked it
Made it, broke it
Down da-down da-down da-down da-down da-down da-down

Do You Know Who I Am?
Do You Know What I Got?
Did You Know Who I Am?
Cos I know what you got

Love it, hate it
Want it, had it
Need it, got it
Down da-down da-down

Do You Know Who I Am?
Do You Know What I Got?
Did You Know Who I Am?
Cos I know what you got

Just as I thought I'm thinking?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Those lyrics look even worse written down, I bet Mac scribbled them down on the back of a fag (cigarrette for our transatlantic cousins) packet.

Track 7.

Everlasting
Neverendless
Moments lost in time
Everlasting
They can send us
Will be yours and mine and mine and mine

Don't look down
Don't look down
Don't look down

See this through or we could watch it die
Me and you saying our last goodbyes
Goodbye baby
Goodbye baby goodbye

Hear us calling
Ever crying
Wonder when it stops

Don't look down
Don't look down
Don't look down

See this through or we could watch it die
Me and you saying our last goodbyes
Goodbye baby
Goodbye baby goodbye
Goodbye baby
Goodbye baby goodbye

See this through
See this through
Me and you

Forgotten Fields is a bit more difficult as some of the lyrics are extremely hard to make out.

He might be saying "What would be" instead of something about a bee.

I'm pretty sure he is referring the selfish stealing "some ground"

"weed" is probably "weep"

I must admit that I am not very good at figuring out lyrics but I think I'm on the mark here.

"Summer early blooms some are made to weed (?) "

I hear that as "Some are early blooms, some are made to wait"

"It's looked long (?) no hands on the steering wheel"

Look Ma, no hands on the steering wheel?

"Some thing could move can never gain "

Some think the moon can navigate their life round?

Having said that I've listened with your interpretation too, and it could be those too.

"Wait" makes more sense since it rhymes with late.

Mr. Brian,

Please delete this thread. Helpful and informative threads are not welcome here.

I think Mr Brian and Crystal Days you are right, having listened again. Altered lyrics but I still can't make out one line.

In the tree-lined cities in forgotten fields
Some are born too pretty, some are born too real
Such a death wish pity while the selfish steal
Some grow (some growl?, some ground?)
So just hunch back plans to start to feel
As the rise of man names his price to deal
It's look ma no hands on the steering wheel
Going round

Goes round
Goes round
Goes round
Slows down

Some are early blooms, some are made to wait
Some arrive too soon, some way too late
Some think the moon can navigate
Life round

Life round
Life round
Life round
Life round

Hey can't you see?
What will be
Can't you see
Hey can't you see
What will be
Can't you see

It's behind you
It's behind you
It's behind you
Looks behind you
Look behind you
Look behind you
Look behind you
Look behind you

Hey can't you see?
What will be
Can't you see
Hey can't you see
What will be
Can't you see
Hey can't you see?
What will be
Can't you see

I saw him
He saw me
That your in stained shroud.. (?)
He cried
And I cried
We both died
Laughing him and me
Why me?
Why ........... me (?)

I want you
You want me
We both want the things we'll never be now
We see now
It's sad how some things aren't meant to be for real
Just you and me

Never happens when you want it to
Never does what it's supposed to do
It's never good enough to see me through
See me through

I love that shroud that you're in
I love that you're maturing
I love that sweet sack you're in
I love your saccharin
I love that shroud that you're in
I love that you're from Turin
I love that sweet sack you're in
I love your saccharin

Never happens when you want it to
Never does what it's supposed to do
It's never good enough to see me through
See me through

He saw me
I saw him
We both saw beneath each other's skin deep
But then deep we both sleep
To dream of what could be for me
I say he's forgiven me

Never happens when you want it to
Never does what it's supposed to do
It's never good enough to see me through
See me through

I love that shroud that you're in
I love that you're maturing
I love that sweet sack you're in
I love your saccharin
I love that shroud that you're in
I love that you're from Turin
I love that sweet sack you're in
I love your saccharin

I slept by the mountain
The rivers we crossed
I dreamt of the fountain
And the coin that we tossed
Now I'm just counting
The dreams that were lost
One coin in a fountain
Is all that it cost
Is that all it cost?

I followed the oceans
I swallowed the seas
I buried emotions
I couldn't set free
I took every potion
From aid to me (?)
And that was devotion
Was that really me?
Was that really me?

What a way to waste your wishes
Changing something for somehow
What I'd pay to taste your kisses oh yeah
Here and now
Here and now
Here and now
Here and now

Wash me down
Wash me down

Will there be thunder?
Will lightning strike?
Will I kneel and wonder
In a tunnel of light
Or will I go under and give up the fight
When they call my number
Called it a night
Call it a night

I cried the fountain dry
I climbed the mountains high
Hallelujah
