Turquoise Days

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

Is Turquoise Days the best Bunnymen related book written?

I'm not going to Bunnymen shows any longer and most certainly don't read their books.

Turquoise Days

I found my copy this last weekend! I thought for sure the wife threw it out after one too many:

"Honey look! Look! See what Mac said about Bono in 1984? Isn't he the funniest guy?"
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Where is the option "I think 'Never Stop' by Tony Fletcher is better"?

Oh shit. I forgot that one. Is it any good? I've never gotten my hands on a copy. The only reason I mention King of Cool is cause the cover was so fucking lame it is seared in my memory.

Never Stop is a great book. I guess it is hard to find. I got my copy from a catholic girl hipster when I was in high school.

It talks about Pete's travels to N.O. It is good. Not great. But good.

It's Bunnymen propaganda at its finest. I like the photos in it. If you get a chance to pick up a copy, do so.

I always wanted to get a copy of Never Stop but couldn't find it anywhere. Is Ian actually holding a cigar on the cover of King of Cool or is it photoshopped? That's almost as lame as the video for Stormy Weather, which might be the most embarrassing and generic thing the Bunnymen have ever done.

I liked Turquoise Days but it almost felt like an extended version of the liner notes off the Crystal Days boxset, not that that's a bad thing but it kind of left me wanting more.

If memory serves, the photo from King of Cool was actually from a Melody Maker cover photo shoot. So I guess he was actually holding a cigar.

I have Turquoise Days, but I've never read it, just browsed. Some pretty good typos in there, though.

not to be picky but you haven't got a simple 'yes' option. its not brilliant but it is the best one. Fletcher's book is OK. I think its his first proper book (after he was pissed off from working for weller) and it shows but it has some good stuff here and there. towards the end theres one of those interviews we hear about - like the one on youtube where pete les and will are being totally uncommunicative. Mac's not there so its a bit of a struggle and then Will goes off on one. i'll find it out later and share, if i can be arsed that is. Middles book is a bit of a mixed bag too and never too sure of the facts. his New Order one is full of mistakes if i recall. I was expecting more of the hipster talk in Adams's book so was a bit disappointed there but its as he intended, simple telling of the 'facts' as we know them with loads of quotes. All a bit low fi in the production but i guess there wasn't the budget for the big glossy coffee table book that it should have been. the 'briliant' best is waiting to be written still.

Never Stop is fantastic.

Torquise Days is bloody awful. Its like its written by a barely educated 6th Form student on a crap PC. Its not even endearing in its enthusiasm.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.
