L.A. Ocean Rain meet-up?

Postby black francis » Wed Aug 12, 2009 6:14 pm

I suppose it's not too early to discuss a possible meet-up. How many of us are there? Anyone flying in to see the gig? All the bars I'm familiar with are shit holes nowhere near the Nokia so I'm pretty much useless as always.

Anyone?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I'm attending the show. I have no details on any arrangements but I will probaby fly in the morning of the show and depart the following day. It would be an interesting experience meeting with you diehard EATB fans. Dinner the evening of the show sounds good but I reserve my drinking for the final countdown, with rockets firing the moment I hear Will's guitar.

Yeah... uh... remind me not to stand in front of this guy... or anywhere near him. Or I could bring a plastic rain poncho...like at a Gallagher show

There's several bars & restaurants at L.A. Live, site of Bunny Rain '09, dunno how expensive tho:

Oh come on! I'm not that bad. In fact, the beauty of tequila is that its never led to illness and the hangovers are minimal to nonexistant. I am simply very "exubarant". Aren't all Bunnymen fans?

At APW when I could have sworn it was 1984:

I'll eventually learn how to insert photos.

Polite clapping at gigs (if the performance warrants it of course) with an occasional Huzzah! is as far as I'm prepared to go.

I find that clapping with a bottle in one hand is, by its very nature, polite and rather muted.

I like to tap my toe once in a while. Sometimes a nod of the head in time with the music.

Booyah.

Yes, like the ones at the Echo Arena. Maybe someone can enlighten me as to why the staff took the plastic bottle tops, even off the Fruit Shoot (a fruit based drink for the youngsters and ladies), I don't suppose you could do much damage with a plastic bottle top?

Based on how the people were reacting to the music during the Bunnymen's performance at the All Points West Festival, I'd say there were a crowd of Brits standing in front of the stage, being all polite and reserved.
