Not sure I can say same about Friday's gig in Bath. Ian sounded amazing and it's great he gets the chance to talk a lot as it's a great insight into his character but I just felt he was way too harsh with some members of the audience. Someone would only have to cough and he'd stop mid-flow and go on about the person coughing for ages. He started some jolly banter with some people from Glasgow but then turned on one of the women calling her a twat. In fact he used that word a lot. I know you expect a bit of antagonism with Ian but I just felt it was too much on Friday. Got fed up with getting into a song only to have him stop saying he couldn't be bothered. When he could be bothered he was magnificent. I saw him in Bristol the previous year when I was in the front row. I was busting for the loo after a few lagers but there was no way I was getting up in front of him and walking to the back for fear of a similar insult. I ran out as soon as he was off and watched the encores safely from the back. He still managed to call a woman who had been sitting a few seats down from me a bimbo though. He's a charmer, for sure.

That sucks. When I saw him solo in 2003 he was in full force. Charming, generous and even the Candleland tracks had an aggressive energy missing from the album. Then again I turn 40 this year and I'm becoming a grumpy old coot myself.

As you were Mac.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Mr Brian please delete Black Francis' account due to his relative youth. "I turn 40 this year my arse".
