Can't Find These Songs? Demos or Rarities?

Postby redgumball » Fri Jan 02, 2015 3:59 am

I was wondering if anyone has information on any of these songs? Maybe demo titles or perhaps they show up as B-sides or rarities on some of the singles? Could be solo Mcculloch, Electrafixion, or Bunnymen tunes??

Think ihave an mp3 of baby hold on with jane birkin thats about a million times better than the mac solo version. Think it was around the time of the romours of a duets album.

So when exactly did you become a Mac fondler?

Did a run through of ASCAP for music publishing. Found a lot of these listed under MAC and some under Will, Mac, Pete and Les.

Originally intrigued to do this, because I recently received Mysterio 2012 re-master for the holidays. Noticed it had three tracks on the second disk - pretty much unavailable anywhere.

1). History Chimes (Early MAC version) -- I now have all three versions (Ultra hard w/ Bunnymen, WAWGDWYL lullabye style, and this solo Mac version)
2). Honeydrip (Previously unreleased; early version)
3). On One (early version of Pomegranate)

Got me to looking for other songs, as published by ASCAP or BMG and available to license through Warner/Chappell Music. Hence the massive list. Never heard of half of them (and a few I suspect ended up snookered out of the courier van via Johnny Marr).

I also checked my MAC folder- and I see that I have a few versions of All My Life in addition to Mysterio Demos. I will have to take another listen. Does anyone have the complete Mysterio album in demo form? Chris Adams mentions an earlier version (which the record company rejected). I think I might have 3/4 of it now...

Hey Dave -

So Lost On You / Get Me Out Of This Jam - must be earlier name for Birdy and/or Ribbons & Chains, then right?

Also on ASCAP there are two versions of Baby Hold on listed Baby Hold On 1 and Baby Hold On 2 - one with Broudie listed as additional songwriter credits. I assume it's the Jane Birkin version mentioned above - as the only difference.

Any idea on the rest?

We can discount Never, Never, Never - as Never from electrafixion, also Touchdown from Marr sessions.

Dear God please tell me that Baby Hold On is an Eddie Money cover. PLEASE!!!

Don't think that is the case since it's exactly the same recording sans Jane Birkin. The Broudie one must be different sounding as recorded earlier.
