Glasgow SECC Show.......

Postby Grumpy_Jimbo » Sat Apr 13, 2013 4:36 pm

Great Show, have to say Mac sounded bloody great..... Think he was a wee bit nervous at the start after the last time they played Glasgow......

Lips Like Sugar
Rescue
Villiers Terrace
Bring On The Dancing Horses
Seven Seas
Bedbugs
Zimbo
The Disease
All That Jazz
Nothing Last Forever
Killing Moon
The Cutter

As for James I gave up after 4 songs and went home......

Yeah -was really good--2/3 of people I spoke too had went to see EATB rather than James- the Fiat 500 of bands--everyone kinda likes them but wouldnt be seen dead in one ( unless ur a chick )--Mac in good voice and looked leaner than i've seen him for a couple of years. and thank feck he doesn't dance around like a fanny a la Tim Booth

If there's any guitar freaks out there, he played Seven Seas on the Vox ( dont think ive noticed that before) and has had the pickups yanked out the Jaguar and replaced.

SOunds like Mac is really getting his act together. Nice one!
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

Finally invested in a couple of tickets for Manchester in the end. How long was the Bunnymen set Jimbo, about 50 minutes? Great to hear it was a good night.

Yeah, I thought that when he played St. Helens. As one of the recent interviews in the national press put it, he's 'lost the beer and cocaine bloat'. He sounds much better for it and seems happier.

Yeah, stayed 'til the bitter end! James were not bad--seen them better, like at the Wickermen festival when their sound system spat out silence for 20 mins lol

They're a bit cabaret--never see the point of a dancing trumpeter!

They had a choir for a few songs- some worked, some didn't-- considering they've been around since 1983-ish they've done well to still be able to half-fill big barns like the SECC...and they always look like they enjoy being onstage and in a band, unlike some people i can think of

LOL. Well, if standing still in backlight and moving only to grab a bottle of water is a proper concert show, I guess, you can call that dancing of some James members cabaret ;)

They are right to tour in big venues even if it is as special guests.

James are just their closing act
