Me and David Bowie v's Proxy

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

nahhh

He wasn't ironic enough for either then. The Bunnymen were a serious band musically and lyrically.

Editing for clarification: There were some silly lyrics, but there was more prentention about them than self humour, in my opinion, they were supposed to be cryptic.

The lyrics to "Proxy" are funny.

MADB has a nice tune but the lyrics are pretty bad.

The tune sounds like it was created by three teenagers after a bottle of cider in there bedroom. Its truly horrendous.

The guy needs to give up. every fucking solo album sounds the same.

Something like Kasabian, My Chemical Romance. Actually that's unfair.

You know your mate at school who formed a band, was really cool, and then played live and lost all street cred.

Him?

Apart from a bit of superficial resemblence to Candleland, I don't see how it sounds like his other solo records.

I expected it to maybe take the place of Slideling on my favourites list, alas it didn't have a Stake Your Claim or a Kansas.

"The Party's Over" in my opinion, is one of the finest things he has written in a lot of years.

I used to joke that Mac could sing nursery rhymes and I would still love it because his voice is so cool.

I was wrong, mainly because that voice is gone.
