My thoughts on this....over the last few years I've seen Mac's onstage behaviour change at times from previously being just bevvied moaning to downright being disrespectful to his fans and bandmates.Ever been to a Mac gig when suddenly the whole room feels uncomfortable??Of course we have.Similarly Ive seen some the best gigs ever-Crocs/HUH tour etc.. etc...

All down to his mood which as we know is related to his 'intake' of things before a show. But I lost a lot of respect when he grabbed the guitar off Gordy at Birmingham Symphony Hall because he thought he wasnt playing NLF properly. The belittling of a pro like Gordy was shameful and embarassing...and being a musician myself if I was Gordy I would just have fucked offstage straight away. Also the instances of Mac throwing people out of the crowd who make a noise, even cough,is becoming more regular.

In conclusion....Mac solo needs structure. If its just him and a guitar it can be a bit shite and confrontational.Mac with backing,ie Cathedral gig,can be glorious. Bit of a roulette wheel....but its never boring!lol

I'm just glad I ended it with New York Ocean Rain. I had a feeling it wouldn't get any better than that. However I'm still willing to give solo Mac at Hollywood Forever a shot cause I have a soft spot for that place and Mac solo in 2003 at least was bitchin'.

Wendy and I will balance each other and make for the ultimate Bunnymen power couple.
