Supported by a cast of talented musicians to add some musical interludes, long time Echo & The Bunnymen Frontman Sir Ian "Mac" McCulloch read some of his favourite, and best know words and lyrics to a raptured audience of invited guests, well wishers and hardcore fans.
Mac told some funny stories involving sadly departed drummer Pete De Freitas, particularly his Sex Gods escapade. Some of his jokes were not quite as successful.
The main highlight was beautiful reading of The Killing Moon, where at times Sir Ian almost burst into song, leaving many to wonder how such a beautiful voice was not used for what is modestly called "the greatest song of all time"
Sir Ian got up from his comfy chair to a huge round of applause and walked off, unaided into that glorious sunset, the crowd of hundreds having witnessed pop royalty.
